چکیده
Using value-added products such as compost in farming systems could enable optimization of nitrogen (N) fertilizers whose world-wide demand is on the increase. The objectives this study were to: (i) produce through co-composting rice husk (RH) with chicken dung slurry (CDS), feed, and molasses, (ii) determine effects optimum rate urea RH minimizing ammonia (NH3) volatilization, (iii) total N, exchangeable ammonium (NH4+), available nitrate (NO3?) retained soil following co-application compost. Compost was produced for 60 days by mixing RH, CDS, molasses at a ratio 20:1:1:1. color dark brown had significant amounts major nutrients N (1.15%), phosphorus (3101 mg kg?1), potassium (2038 calcium (863 magnesium (276 organic matter (OM) (60.67%), carbon (35.17%), humic acids (5.87%). Ammonia Volatilization from Urea-Application Influenced Germination and Early Seedling Growth of Dry Direct-Seeded Rice
Poor seed germination and early seedling growth associated with urea-induced soil ammonia volatilization are major constraints in the adoption of dry direct-seeded rice. To directly examine soil ammonia volatilization and its damage to seed germination and early seedling growth of dry direct-seeded rice when urea is applied at seeding, two Petri-dish incubation experiments and a field experimen...
متن کاملAmmonia Volatilization from Dairy and Poultry Manure
Ammonia volatilization is a major N loss process for surface-applied manures and urea fertilizers. The lost ammonia is important for both agricultural and non-agricultural ecosystems because it: i) is a direct loss of plant available N to the farmer, ii) reduces the N:P ratio in manure, which accelerates P build-up in soils, and iii) contributes to eutrophication in aquatic and low-N input ecos...
